How office pets improve the workplace

November 22, 2019

Meet Mimi. Mimi is queen of the Exhibitionist office here in Darwin.

Chances are, if you have visited us for a chat, you will have been inspected by Mimi. Mimi has her own chair, snacks and a heap of human slaves (AKA Exhibitionist staff).

Lots of cool companies like Google, Etsy, Amazon, (and the Exhibitionist of course), allow dogs to come to work with their owners.

The reality is…the benefits of bringing pets to the office extend much further than people think.

1. Make your company seem friendly

Customers love pets too, and having office pets makes your organisation seem approachable, welcoming and friendly.

2. Improve morale and lower stress

Bringing your best friend to work makes people happy...simple.

3. Increases creativity and productivity

Walking dogs increases exercise and forces you to take regular breaks, which drives overall creativity.

4. Attract and keep top talent

Perks and benefits play a huge role in today's recruitment world. Allowing employees to bring their loved pets to work could give your company the hiring edge over another organisation. It also increases job satisfaction for current staff, meaning you retain star employees for longer.

5. Promote genuine team building

Having office pets is a fantastic way to promote genuine connections with colleagues, as you make small talk and socialise face to face, rather than communicating solely by email.

So you would have to be barking mad (see what we did there) to ignore the benefits of having office pets.

Give us a call on (08) 8981 3166 to visit Mimi, and chat about your design, signage or expo needs.
